I love these kinds of conversations with people.

I was busy playing Super Mario 3D Land since last post. I usually can’t put it down until I completely finish everything through and through. I’ve finished collecting 320+ Star Medals, Gold Flag completed all the stages with both Mario and Luigi, as well as got a 5-Star rating on the save file. So, needless to say I’m pretty much done.

Luckily, I bought Mario Kart 7 to keep me going. But I’ll be taking my time with that one.

Lately, as you could probably tell, I’ve really been ramping up my game playing again. I really miss being able to play for hours and getting lost in a challenge so I’ve been looking for it in my favorite video games I haven’t touched in a while. iPhone games also have been creeping back into my free time. I’m quite competitive when it comes to score boards so games like Angry Birds make me go crazy with addiction. I am proud to report I’m somewhere within the top 5% of players in the world, but of course I think that can be improved.

Another game I started was Charadium II, its a bit like Pictionary where you draw a picture and other people have to guess at what it is. There’s usually about 15 rounds depending on how many people are in the room, and the person with the most points at the end of the match wins. Currently, I’m ranked in the top 20 U.S. players. Not too shabby if I say so myself.

I also got a copy of Parallels 7 for the Mac last week as well so when I get bored I load up Windows and travel back into time playing Roller Coaster Tycoon. I’ll be quite honest, I only play it build a very nice amusement park with a tall roller coaster, have people get on, ride to the top then shoot off and scream to their fiery exploding death. If you have never played this game when it came out back in 1999, then by all means watch the clip below in full screen and you’ll quickly realize how much fun it is.

As if that wasn’t enough, I also picked up Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 on Steam. I always loved playing Magic back in middle and high school so this takes me back. I wish it was Mac native, but Parallels 7 helps out with when I need my dose of Magic.

This should tide me over for a while. Any games you might recommend based on what I play? I’m game for anything.

Whew,

thats a lot of dust.

It’s been a while since my last post. Been busy with work and other projects but I do plan on getting some more stuff on here. I suppose I try to make my blog as substance rich as possible, even though it may not be about much and the topics can be a bit spread out, I do my best to fill it with the best information and stuff regarding that particular topic. So, from now on, I plan on changing that. I still will have those types of quality posts (I hope), but just to try and get back into the groove of blogging for now I will try to post something, anything, once a day (or so). None of this months-to-year spaces between blog posts. That should help me get the cobwebs out of here.

It was a pretty lazy day today, but it was also Science Sunday for me. I make sure that I get a good dose of science in, wether it be a book, video or some other media. Last week I got all of Stephen Hawking’s – “Into the Universe” in which is currently available on Netflix Instant from PBS but also floating around out there on YouTube and other video websites.

Today, I got in National Geographic’s “Six Degrees Could Change the World” series in, also on Netflix Instant. I found it on YouTube cut up into different parts, the first part is embedded below.

Anyway, time for bed.

Well, I cant seem to figure out a good saying, so I came up with a few I liked and decided to let others pick their favorite since it would be seen by other people more than myself, it only seemed fair.

Being the geek & video game enthusiast I am explains why most of these are from a variety of different games. One of my hobbies also happens to be Geocaching, so I figured why not make my whole car a cache itself? (Find out more about geocaching here) Anyways, be a pal and pick one for me. After all, you could one day see it on the road you know.

No, today I’m going to focus on the poverty that strikes each and every one of us no matter the size of our wallet or the bling of our cars. I’m talking about the poverty of being dreamless.

We grow up so fast, we see friends and family fade in and out of our lives, financial heartaches come and go, and other troubled situations strike us without notice. There are plenty of good times too, and all the while we forget something important. We forget the “idea” we had when we were a kid. We forget what we set out to do in the first place. Soon, sometimes without even knowing it, we drift farther away from the idea that its possible and accept our daily routine without ever taking a second glance at whats really happening.

Perhaps you had an idea to open your own bake shop. You could have always wanted to circle the world. The prospect of going after a type of job you thought you might not be able to get. Starting a small business that deals with your expertise. All these things, if you are not actively pursuing at this very moment – are slipping away from you – this very moment.

Sure you can argue that the bad times got you down, or perhaps you have no money, even try to argue that you simply are too busy to start taking on that dream you had. Well let me tell you something, no amount of money, time or lack of hardships will ever stop you if you have the will power to go for it. It starts SOMEWHERE. The idea or dream you had when you were a kid is still inside you but you need understand it will never see the light of day unless you actively DO something about it.

Have you really sat down and taken the time to figure out exactly what it would take to get started? Perhaps you think it would take too long or you wouldn’t know where to start. Again, more excuses. There are plenty of resources out there ready to be tapped into and all it takes is for someone like you to use them. Time is ticking and you have less time than you think to do the job. The worst thing you can do when it comes to your dream is to give up.

Think about it, where does your time really go? Where does your money get spent? There is no book, movie or blogpost out there capable of giving you any sort of power you didn’t already have. You are your own engine. Look deep within yourself and understand that nothing will ever be done for you unless you take initiative. When people say “Well, when things get better later on in my life I’ll pursue it..” is just a cop out for not having enough will power.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

I’ve been pursuing my dream and doing my best to get my ideas out in the world and my time is soon. I might not have all the money I need, might not have the resources to pull it off the way I want, nor even the full knowledge of every little detail but I know what the end game looks like and I plan on seeing it happen one way or another.

I know a few might be thinking “well, it may be easy for YOU but I have problems” or some other negative thought. If you are, stop right there. Your already going down the wrong path. Make a U-turn, and try again. I’ll leave you with this quote that I based this blog post on, said by Harry Kemp.
